Function
The main uses and application fields of sodium chlorate
1. It is a mordant and oxidant used in the printing and dyeing industry and inorganic industry;
2. Used in the manufacture of chlorine dioxide, sodium chlorite, and perchlorate;
3. It is a herbicide used in agriculture, such as non-arable and wasteland. Many plants will be killed. It is generally used in the vigorous growth period of plants, and the amount depends on the type, quantity and size of weeds. It can be mixed with residual organic herbicides such as Metolachlor, diachloron, and herbicides.
4. The pharmaceutical industry is used to produce zinc oxide and sodium disulfide succinate. Pigments are used in industrial production of zinc oxide and flower blue.
5. It is a bleaching agent used in paper making, tanning, and ore processing.
6. It can also be used to extract bromine from seawater, manufacture ink and explosives.
7. It can also be used to determine silicon dioxide, nutrients, and adhesives.
8. Used for disinfection of items, especially for tableware, tea sets, kitchenware, etc., can also be used for disinfection of fish meat, fruits, vegetables.
9.One of the uses of sodium chlorate is to manufacture emulsified oil explosives by mixing aqueous solutions such as ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, and sodium perchlorate with emulsifiers such as paraffin, diesel and dehydrated sorbitol monooleate, as well as substances containing small bubbles such as hollow glass microbeads. This emulsified oil explosive has a medium power,can be used in the manufacture of deep fryers, oil pipes and other equipment.
Caution
Sodium Chlorate, easily soluble in water, is a strong oxidant and react easily withsulfur and phosphorus. Combustion explosion will happen when its mixture with organic compoundwas struck.
