Function
Ammonium nitrate has a wide range of uses, including:
1.Fertilizer. Ammonium nitrate is an important source of nitrogen fertilizer in agricultural production. The ammonium nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen it contains can be directly absorbed and utilized by plants, helping plant growth.
2.Dynamite. Ammonium nitrate is widely used to make industrial and military explosives, and its properties make it a key ingredient in the preparation of explosives.
3.Fireworks and pyrotechnics. Ammonium nitrate can be used as an oxidizer in fireworks and pyrotechnics, producing bright light and color.

Caution
Pure ammonium nitrate is stable at room temperature and is not sensitive to shock, collision or friction. However, in the presence of high temperature, high pressure and oxidized substances (reducing agents) and electric sparks will explode, ammonium nitrate can not explode when the water content is more than 3%, but it will still decompose at a certain temperature, in the production, storage and use must strictly abide by the safety regulations.
